In 2015 over one million people crossed the Mediterranean to Europe in search of safety and a better life. Thousands died along the way.

Our ESRC/DfID funded research on ‘Unravelling the Mediterranean Migration Crisis’ (MEDMIG)’ contributes to an improved understanding of the dynamics behind the recent unprecedented levels of migration in the region by examining the journeys, motivations and aspirations of 500 people who arrived in Italy, Greece, Malta and Turkey during 2015.

On Thursday 3th November 10am-12.30pm we will be launching the final report of our research at a half-day event in Brussels aimed primarily at politicians, policy makers, practitioners and others with a direct interest in the development of strategic, political, policy and advocacy responses. We would be delighted if you could join us.

The event will be followed by a light lunch when there will be an opportunity to network with the other participants.

Places are limited, but if you would like to attend please send your name, affiliation and contact details by Friday October 14th to Dr Esra Kaytaz at esra.kaytaz@coventry.ac.uk

If you are unable to attend but would like to be receive a copy of the final report please contact Esra at the address above and she will add you to our mailing list.
